Aeromexico is an airplane company that was well-known by the top leading airline in America Latin. It also symbolized the mexican modernity at that time. This airline has a previous history before becoming aeromexico. This history began with the dream of the company to create an air transportation for domestic air transport.
Aeromexico started its debut in 1934 under the name of “Aeronaves de Mexico”. That was the original and the first name that this airline had. At that time, the history began when Antonio Diaz Lombardo created the company and had ihe inaugural flights from Mexico to Acapulco on September 14th,1934 bby Julio Sinzer. This inaugural flights used the first aircraft that the company had, it is named Stinson SR.
Unfortunately, as the effect of the World War 2, there are many airplanes were sacrified to give the support of motors, airplane’s chasis, and other parts. This condition finally made this airline sold 25 % of its share to Pan America. This step was taken to survive the company during the World War 2. Beside the airplane’s parts had been asked by the government for the military support, the flights schedule also decreased significanly.
Fortunately, Aeronaves de Mexico had been able to survive and finally made their new branding to be”Aeromexico”. This situation was inagurated with 25 aircrafts and supported about 3500 employee to build the new International branding for Aeronaves de Mexico. At that time, some advertisements under the name of Aeromexico has stated “With the best of we can offer” as its tagline. The commercial aircrafts promotion of Aeromexico was about to start in 1988.
This good situation had actually realized by the Aeromexico team to be long last. It was because in 1991-1995, the Gulf War had potentially damaged this airline’s financial significanly. Negotiating to bank and lending some money has finally become the challanging solutions for them. Around this year, Aeromexico had to face its most challanging part of their history.
The situation happen in the end of 1995 finally lead the company to be business focus. This company practice some new phylosophies and economical principal. Decreasing costs and made effective routes had been their steps to handle the change. This airplane also improve the human resources capability and be result oriented company. This serious willingness to change finally given a lot of chance for them to take back their popularoty in 1988.
On 28th June 1996, the government created CINTARA (The International Air Transport Corporation). This organization was made to be the holding company for the shares of various air transport mainly for Aeromexico and mexicana. This situation helped the company to get some new more commercial routes and global markets could be serve efficiently.
Nowadays, company phylosophy was reviewed. They are not only result oriented but also understood to be ready for any global changes. This situation finally makes this airlines to be more popular and ready for market competition. As their popularity now, we can concluded that this company has come as a big airline because of its struggle and believes.

Several hundred dollars worth of belongings were stolen from my checked back on a recent Aeromexico Flight. I filed a claim at the airport and was given an email address to check on the status of the claim. This was 3 weeks ago, I have emailed 20 times since and I have never received a response other than the automatic reply that says they will get back to me later that same day–they never do. I called the AeroMexico customer service number and was told that there was absolutely nothing they could do, that this was handled by a different department, a department that somehow, in 2017, does not have a single phone and is only reachable by this email address that no one responds to.
I fly internationally several times a month and I have honestly never had such a frustrating customer service experience. I will never fly Aeromexico again and suggest that you do the same.

I was shocked by the horrible, unprofessional, incompetent way that I was treated by Aeromexico during my recent flight. Their deception, misinformation and incompetence cost me 8,612 extra pesos in penalties!
The clerk at the gate told me to go to the Immigration desk to get a new immigration stub. I did and returned to the gate minutes later. But then the clerk wouldn’t allow me to board the plane! And she seemed completely uninterested in the fact that I was just following her orders. In the end, I had to be rescheduled for the next flight, at a total penalty of 8,612 pesos ($480.25).
I ended up speaking with EIGHT Aeromexico employees about this matter, all to no effect. I even called Aeromexico’s customer service line. They told me that unfortunately Aeromexico’s customer service operators weren’t authorized to resolve customer service matters. How ridiculous!
I should not have been treated this way. DON’T make the mistake of taking Aeromexico. They might treat you this way too.
AVOID Aeromexico at all costs.

My husband and I were flying from Mexico City to Shanghai. The plane from Shanghai to Mexico City was extremely uncomfortable in economy class (by the way, DO NOT PAY for the emergency seats, they are the worst seats,) so we decided to upgrade to Premium economy to better our seats (around $6,000 pesos more). But when we checked in at the airport, we were charged $1,800 Mexican pesos extras for 3 extra kilos as APPARENTLY Premium economy means nothing. You won’t get any sort of benefits what so ever, SO if you are reading this, JUST BE AWARE about the luggage requirements and avoid checking in your carry on. You will not find any sort of helpful staff neither at the airport nor via phone to help you understand, clarify, or reinburse any money regarding this issue. We bought the tickets thinking they were a good deal, at the end, we ended up paying way more than if we had bought a more expensive tickets through a different airline. I do not recommend this airline at all. I am a very dissastified customer and we will certainly not fly again through Aeromexico.

Mexico City to Miami. Decent flight, on time, good service on Business not the best but honest. They treat you by your name etc. Food is poor, better eat at the lounge will be better. The breakfast they serve in Business is equal to an economy class Breakfast in Lufthansa or Air France. A little disappointed to be honest. Multimedia is great and offer a huge selection of movies and a very good screen. Seats are ok the normal standard seat for Aeromexico in short - medium flights. Space for the bags even if the business class is full.

Los Angeles to Bogota via Mexico City. It was the worst experience I had with any airline. The customer service is the worst. Due to their bad service and lack of interest to help anyone, I missed 3 flights; my total travel time was 33 hours instead of 16 hours originally planned. This occurred during my flight from Los Angeles to Mexico City and Bogota. This airline, never offered any help to accommodate me with a hotel during the delays. I really needed to sleep. And I wasn’t able to sleep at all during this ordeal. Not even food vouchers were given. I arrived ill due to the lack of sleep. This is something the consumer must be aware before choose an airline. The savings are absolutely not worth the painful experience

New York JFK to Buenos Aires via Mexico. This was by far the worst experience that I have. The customer service was the worst. I have no idea where they recruit their staff but they are very disrespectful. I checked my bag and I passed the weight limit by half pound. Well she said that I have to pay extra, but i have a carry on bag and i said i will put that half pound in my carry on. Then she said that she has to weight my carry on. At this point I was annoyed, not only because of the situation but they way she was telling me. Long story short I had to paid $260 dollar more to check in my carry on. The worst part is that she was chit chatting with her co-worker and laughing while charging my credit card. After all the procedure she get back to me with that poker face and said "by the way the flight is delay".

Mexico City to Washington. I was traveling from Cabo San Lucas to Washington, DC. My connection flight was in Mexico City. I spent $25 USD on my first flight from Cabo to Mexico City to upgrade my seat, as well as have zone 2 boarding. That flight was great. On my connecting flight from Mexico City to Washington, DC I spent $75 USD to upgrade my seat and have zone 2 boarding. Before boarding I was called up to the front desk by a AeroMexico representative, who I informed immediately I did not speak Spanish. He told me that I was going to have a random bag check and to step to the side. I agreed, as this was no problem. There was a second gentlemen in front of me who was also having a random bag check. When he was finished, I was told by another AeroMexico representative to proceed to the security woman to check my bags. When I gave my passport and bags to the security woman (who I also informed I did not speak Spanish) she waved me through without checking my bags and said I was free to go

Tuxtla Gutierrez to SFO via Mexico City. I few with Aeromexico in August in three segments from Tuxtla Gutierrez to SFO, and I wanted to get miles credit for these three flights. But the SkyTeam website and their customer service seemed incompetent to me and I am giving up trying to get the credit for these flights. I sent them a message by website too, but no response. On the other hand, I contacted United MileagePlus for Avianca flight (on the flight there), and I got the credit soon

Washington DC to Mexico City. Horrible customer service - I will never fly with Aeromexico again. 3 hour flight delay from Dulles to Mexico City caused me to miss my connection. Customer service barely understood English and showed little concern. I found them rude and unhelpful. I ask my wife (who is Mexican and speaks fluent Spanish and English) to assist me in changing my return flight which was also on Aeromexico. The customer service person was not only rude to her as well but they provided inaccurate information regarding their own flight routes and hung up instead of trying to understand the request of their customer. Never again. I gave them one star because they are the only flight from Washington D.C. to Mexico City overnight direct.

Aeromexico is relatively cheap to fly with, but their service is unpredictable and inconsistent. Recently I flew with them on a long series of flights, including Mexico City to Lima. On some legs of the trip, counter staff glanced at my bag and judged it to be too big to carry on. On other legs, staff glanced at the exact same bag and instantly ok'd it for carry on. En route an urgent issue arose and it was physically impossible for me to access counter staff so I had to phone the call centre. I explained the problem at least 4 or 5 times clearly and in detail but the agent would not listen or answer my questions. She just referred me to counter staff. On line check in is terrible - virtually impossible to use and judging by the long periods of time it is unavailable, Aeromexico does not give it priority. Seat comfort was average. Movie selection was excellent, music selection was abysmal. You need to pay extra attention to their scheduling. They have some short delays but once, for an international connecting flight I had, they suddenly, with less than 24 hours notice, scheduled departure for one hour earlier. Often Aeromexico offers the best fares, but they also have the earmarks of an airline that is increasingly trying to cut corners to the detriment of customers.

Came in a hour early and they denied my flight because they had just closed. Wouldn't help me and said I had pay penalty for the next flight (**) saying it's my fault.

Flight 9297 from Cancun to Lansing was delayed 7 hours. Nobody can tell us why - we have been told 5 different reasons as to why. The entire staff and crew were all confused. Nobody knew what was going on or what to do. We will never fly Aeromexico again.

I took out traveler's insurance at the time of booking the flight. I was verbally told it covered cancelation in case of emergency of self or traveling companion, family member, etc as well as health. It was added as a surcharge on my ticket. I had one month before travel a terrible accident. Broke 13 bones, including pelvis, both upper arms, one shoulder, it will be months of rehab. Aeromexico REFUSED to cancel and refund my ticket. Stated "NO cancelation policy was included". I was scared. BEWARE. Do not buy insurance thru them. Lesson cost me retired nurse $1000.

Aeromexico is the worst airline I have ever traveled with. I boarded the airplane from Mexico to NY. Before you enter the airplane you have to give your carry on so they can weigh it. My luggage was 2 kilos over and they were charging me $92 without compromise. Unbelievable!! Then they demanded I pay with my credit card rather than cash. Other airlines I have traveled with always offer solutions and are way more accommodating than Aeromexico was! I have never seen this in my life. After arguing with them, they threatened to take me off the flight and purposely put me all the way in the back by the toilets. The staff was nasty, rude and non accommodating. They were also speaking nasty about me in Spanish to her co-worker. (Unfortunately, I happen to understand Spanish.)
This was by far the worst flight experience I ever had. What an awful airline to travel with! They should be ashamed of themselves. Robbers, thieves and animals!!! I highly recommend you never travel with this airline. I surely will never travel with this airline again!

Booked my flight and confirmed seats on February 21, 2015. Confirmed seats were 15D and 15E. While checking flight status today, June 22, 2015, I learned that the confirmed seats have been changed to 30E & 30F and the connecting seats changed to 25E &25F. Spoke with Aeromexico reservations and was told that because of an airplane change, we were being "accommodated with seat changes." The agent refused to transfer me to a supervisor.

Honestly, I can't think of a better airline. I left Saturday morning from LAX...far too early for my taste. I was hung over, my ass was dragging and I needed to piss like a race horse. Everyone was helpful.... The girl at check-in made sure my passport was in order, and said there was no charge for an extra bag. I had packed some extra stuff for my compadres in PVR. I fell asleep and was awakened by....what???.... lunch?
The return trip was just as good. It was a quick 3 day trip.... Yuck who wants to come back? It's an easy terminal to get to, and the experience was great!

Aeromexico is a very good airline to choose if the price is right. They do have a lot of good partners globally, so any connection you want is prompt and right there.
However, on their international flights outside of North America, I would recommend shopping around for an airlines, unless price is the only item you require. While the food is on par, and sometimes better, than some American airlines, the movie selections will leave you wanting. Especially if your return flight is that month, where you will get the same selection.
The staff is friendly and competent. If the price is right, I will definitely use this airline again.

WORST AIRLINE IN THE WORLD. Just like other people here I have traveled through various airlines in different parts of the world AEROMEXICO IS BY FAR THE WORST!!!1st time I traveled w/them my luggage was lost. Gave them the benefit of the doubt, booked a trip for my mom, they made her miss her flight because they changed gates, none of the employees could direct her to the right gate, once they finally realized the right gate she was to be at, it was too late. They told her she had to get a ticket for the next flight. The person behind the counter refused to give her credit towards the new ticket purchased. They charged her for a new ticket which was almost triple what she originally paid. They lost her luggage and she got off the plane w/a rash all over her arm. Contacted customer service #, e-mailed cust support, and upper management, never heard back from any of them. These people couldn't care less about cust serv. THEY NEED TO GO OUT OF BUSINESS just like MEXICANA did. No wonder they bought MEXICANA just to follow their inept, rude, and unethical values!!!

I wish I would have looked before buying tickets. I was charged TWICE for a ticket and all I get is a woops, sorry. DO NOT fly this airline. Horrible horrible customer service and care. I can say with sadness that I was robbed and cant seem to do a thing about it.

Save your time, and spend a little extra dimes to take a better company.
I am writing this review due to how terrible AEROMEXICO customer service is. The care more about the revenue than their customers. I
I have flown many airlines and many countries, so to have such terrible service I would have to pass.

Won't be flying on them again, despite their lower rates. Recently flew from Rio de Janeiro (GIG) to Las Vegas (LAS) with a layover in Mexico City (MEX). Reasons why I won't be on another AeroMexico flight:
- If you have a layover in MEX, and it's probable that you will, you must go through customs. It doesn't matter that it's just a layover and not switching airlines. You're going through. And you're going to have to switch your bag and there's the potential for inspection. I have to emphasize that this is regardless of whether or not you're leaving the international terminal. Not really in AeroMexico's control but it's a reason to avoid them.
- The airplane from GIG to MEX was an older 767-300 ER and not very comfortable.
- The flight attendants made me change seats, despite it being my assigned seat, because they said that seat was where they sit. It was a window seat and I had to move to an inner aisle. One of the attendants used my original seat to put his bags there.
- General unfriendliness.
Next time I'll pay the extra and fly on one of the other carriers.

Traveled from MEX to NRT and it was a pleasant experience. Flight attendants were kind and funny; flight was perfect, nice and enjoyable. The only bad point of it was that my seat didn't recline and I couldn't sleep at all, but I spent the time watching movies. Price was a good deal. Will travel again with AM for sure!

If I could give 0 stars, I would do it. I am very dissatisfied about having to stay at a hotel in Mexico City without compensation after it was clearly impossible for us to make a connecting flight at Mexico City due to the delayed landing of the Aeroméxico plane. I disputed the charge with customer relations of Aeroméxico but they did not thoroughly review the circumstances and even made false statements. Our connection to Bogotá was only about 1 hour. It was actually impossible to make connection at the Mexico City Airport because when I exited the plane, the screen (displaying all the boarding times) said that the plane to Bogotá was at a final call for boarding. We could not make it because we had to go through immigration first and there was a super long line for immigration. Therefore, right when we landed it was impossible to make the connection at Mexico City in order to board the plane to Bogotá. I am an honest person and I really feel that it was unfair to make us pay for the hotel that night since it was clearly not our fault and it was clearly impossible to make the connection at Mexico City to Bogotá. Now I will not continue to consider Aeromexico for future journeys.
