British Airways is the familiar commercial airline in British. It has many routes and now become the biggest British airlines. The history of British Airways creation was started on the moment after World War 1 ended. One of the former companies of British Airways, Aircraft Transport and Travel (At&T) launched their scheduled International flights the first time in the world on 25th August 1919 from London to Paris.
On 31st March 1924, 4 airlines like Britania-Instone, Handly Page, Daimler Airways, and British Air Marine Navigation combined to be Imperial Airways which covered the flights to Australia and Africa. At the same time, some small airlines also combined to be big private commercial airlines called British Airways. Finally, British Government combined Imperial Airways and British Airways become British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC).
In 1950, the use of Jet aircrafts was started by BOAC by buying De Havilland Comet to empower their aircrafts. The initial flights had done to Johannesburg, South Africa in 1952. The operation of British Airways was operated from Heathrow International Airport, Gatwick Airport and Manchester International Airport. British Airways, at that time, is successfully dominated Heathrow International Airport and make them called by Heathrow Fortress. British Airways also dominate 36 % of Airport take off and Airplanes landing on the Heathrow Airport. This number was still increase to be 42 % when finally British Airways buy other routes from some small airlines companies.
However, British Airways is the first commercial airlines which introduced the use of bed seat at the aircrafts for long distance flights. On 8th September 2004, British Airways stated to sell their 18.5 % to Qantas but still survive their routes especially to Kangaroo Country. This Airlines is also one former of OneWorld Alliance, an alliance for commercial airlines around Europe.
Nowadays, British Airways also provide some better facilities and some affordable price to chose. The affordable price choices come to serve the customers to possibly fly in a cheap price. Now, cheap British Airways tickets are a possible thing to get. To get the cheap ticket price all you must do is registering yourself to book the flights in a certain moments.
It is because sometimes British Airways also celebrate the certain moments like Christmas Eve, New Year and their birthday. At the certain moments like that, some people usually want to spend their free time for having a good holiday and finally makes every airport sounds crowded. Those commercial airlines finally held a discount moment to catch more passenger and get successful achievement.
The good news is to do British Airways booking; you can do a simple thing as simple as registering yourself online. You must visit the official site first, and then start to place your booking. What types of flights you wish, what kinds of facilities you want to get, and also the price list you want to choose. British Airways low airfare will come to you as a good news and you can get it both from Legal online ticket sellers and British Airways official site.

Heathrow to Lyon. The worst customer service I have ever experienced! I arrived at the airport a good 2 hours before the flight only to be told that the flight is overbooked and that I could not check in. After a long wait to ascertain if anyone will not be turning up, I was told I can go on a different flight - the problem being that the only available flight was the one going out the following morning. So I missed a whole day's business meeting and was forced to do the round trip home and back to the airport in a matter of one day. When I queried the fact that I was unable to board I was told that overselling the flight was normal - "all airlines do it".

London to Mumbai. The electrics at my seat were not working. This may have been related but the remote control that was completely broken with loose wires etc. - The call button light kept coming on and off on its own. It was impossible for me to control this and at the time that I did actually want to contact the flight attendant, I had to use my husband's remote control to do so. - Because the connection was loose on my remote, it meant that things were changing on my TV screen without me being able to control it e.g. I would press play on the screen, then the program would pause or start rewinding without me doing anything. Because my remote controller was broken, it would not return properly into the socket and kept 'pinging' back out. This was annoying when you are trying to relax in your seat.

My wife and I booked two round trip business class air tickets from Johannesburg to Victoria Falls with British AirwaysComair. It turned out that our business class seats were not any different from the seats in the economy class: they had exactly the same width and pitch! Actually, British Airways simply separated several seats in the front from the rest of the aircraft cabin with a curtain, and called this a business class! Moreover, our pre-flight accommodations were not any better than those of the economy class passengers because British Airways does not even have a lodge for business class passengers in Victoria Falls. Yes, during the flight we were served sparkling wine and snacks, but does this difference substantiate my paying for two round trip tickets $1,372 rather than $703, which would have been the cost of the economy class tickets?

London to New York JFK in club world. After reading very mixed reviews here, I also saw that BA were upgrading standards on flights to NYC in particular and was looking forward to my flight. Should not have been so optimistic, as this is still a business class that belongs in the 1980's. Aircraft was tatty to be polite about it, worn carpets, seat with various malfunctioning or broken items, washrooms grimy from the word go. Staff tried hard to offer a modicum of good service, but the so called food improvements were really not much better than other premium economy cabins I have flown when I have to pay for the ticket. BA talk a lot about their premium standards, but even when you pay to-dollar for business class the standards are well below even their US counterparts. Complete rip-off sums it up.

Am continually disappointed by British Airways. It seems they are now in a race with Ryanair and easyJet to become the worst carrier in and out of the UK. Flew Düsseldorf to London. Their lounge at DUS is closed but their check-in staff doesn't know that (she sent me up there). I have a connexion at JFK and I showed her the boarding passes but she wouldn't interline my bag to their partner AA and I had to recheck it. Now, not only do they not serve a second meal on the 11-hour flight LHR-LAX, but now they want £2 for a can of coca cola that they pay 15p for. Usually, you should always fly across the ocean on a European carrier, but with BOAC I recommend Finnair or American with their One World alliance. What is the point?

British Airways short haul Business Class is nothing more than an economy class seat and maximum 31 inch pitch, with lounge access and a meal thrown in. So is it worth paying three times the cost of an economy ticket? BA recently introduced Business Class on domestic routes and as I got a decent price for booking well in advance, decided to try it out. Checking in was efficient, and the Galleries Club Lounge adequate (no comparison whatsoever with Asian or Middle Eastern Airline lounges). Priority boarding although announced, did not make any difference as economy and business class passengers were in the same queue and confused. Having maneuvered into the cramped seat, I was offered a hot towel as soon as I sat down. I couldn't decide whether to be amused or embarrassed by the new celebrity cast safety video. It was more spot the stars, than listen to the safety instructions

My experience with British Airways in economy class was HORRIBLE. The seats are very cramped. I could barely move my legs. If the person in front of you reclines their chair-good luck. The small space you had before is now even smaller. The movie screen is also really small and blurry. I was watching a movie I watched before and I noticed it skipped a couple of scenes? They weren't even inappropriate scenes. The flight attendants are however really friendly. The food is alright but i can't except much from an airplane.
One things for sure- I will not be flying British Airways again.

This was my first trip using British Airways and I was quite happy with this airline. Flying business class was definitely a perk for this trip which gave me access to the BA Lounge and a direct entrance onto the plane from a private entrance way. (Not to mention all the free booze) The staff was extremely friendly and willing to help. Our flight left early and arrived 30 minutes early to Heathrow. 10 hours felt like 5, so I was quite happy overall. Also - their dinner was surprisingly good.
The flight back was definitely a different story only because we were delayed for 2 hours. However, I was fine with laying back and getting a nap in before takeoff. Afternoon tea was delightful and I arrived back home relaxed, rested, and glad to be back. I would definitely fly back with British Airways.

First of all to start with the booking.. i used a 3rd party site to book my trip from Bangalore to San Francisco and my return journey. Booking through that site was pretty easy.
I was disappointed that i had to pay extra to choose my seats. So i had to wait until the day before we flew.. to checkin online and choose my seats.
Our 1st lag from BLR to LHR (Heathrow) was ok. We liked the fact that the seats were comfortable compared to a few other airlines like cathay..
Temperature control - There were no knobs to control the air condition...neither cud we see any vents. The entire flight was a little warm.
The entertainment system was super crappy. The display to start with...was too small and not clear. the control system was on the handle bar and not a wired remote. The sound quality was terrible unlike many other flights (Qatar/Singapore airways)
On our return flight from SFO to LHR the headphones jack dint even work.
Food - We chose indian vegetarian as i had read reviews on lacto ovo that i might end up getting bland food. The quality of the food was good.
Service - The 1st and last lag (BLR-LHR and LHR-BLR) had indian attendants who were pretty courteous. However BA did not offer any Hot towels or wet wipes.. socks or eye masks.
The LHR-SFO and SFO-LHR flights had British attendants and i found one of them totally unfair to us. My drink spilled all over me and my tray and all i had was one paper napkin and my husband offered another. When i asked the attendant for more napkins he refused to give me any and told me to go to the bathroom myself to grab some more. The drink was all over my tray and needed to clean the tray before i cud even get up from my seat.
Then comes the airport. Heathrow airport is one pain in the a** airport....
I had clearly packed all my liquids in 1qt ziplock bags..put them in a separate tray. Our security line was clogging because someone else did not pack their bags according to instructions..the lady who was c

pretty poor experience travelling with BA, return from SFO to LHR
staff were not enthusiastic about taking care of passengers, didnt really want to engage with passengers or attend to us, it was almost an inconvenience for flight attendants to respond to our needs
food portions were insufficient, and we were seated in Premium Economy
online check in was a problem, BA was able to (very quickly) process my payment for upgrading seats, but once they took my money, the website stopped working and no longer let me select seats or check-in -- no explanation offered, call center was the same, was unable to help
on transatlantic routes, BA is more expensive than Virgin Atlantic, and delivers worse service
Virgin allows passengers to pick their seats on booking, BA charges passengers for that option
I've booked 60 tickets on transatlantic flights over the past 5 years -- BA, Virgin, Delta -- by far, best experience was Virgin/Delta
I wont be booking BA, and recommend that other folks avoid BA when flying on transatlantic routes -- not very good value for money, way too expensive
the only good thing about BA @ LHR is modern terminal 5, but not worth paying extra money for

I had an 8 day trip to London planned months in advance. To get there, I would first fly with Air Berlin and transfer at Tegel to British Airways. Unfortunately the transfer time was short and they must not have had the time to transfer my bag despite me having boarded the plane. After I arrived at Heathrow and realized my bag was lost, I filled out a report and left without being given any compensation.
For the next 8 days, I became increasingly frustrated by the complete lack of efficiency and knowledge of how to do their jobs. It was not until the fifth day when the man I spoke with at the baggage tracing office even told me where my bag was. It turns out that my bag had been sitting at Tegel undisturbed for my entire trip. There had been no effort made to send it on a new flight. I had spent the first few days still hopeful and only buying bare minimum but by the fifth day I went out and bought all the things I should have bought on the very first day. I guess I just really didn't think an airline like British Airways would so blatantly not care. At all.
At the end of my London trip I headed to Tegel for my 4 day trip to Berlin. Once there I was informed that the situation with my bag was not handled because no one would accept responsibility for dealing with the bags and sending them forward to their owners. So while I was crying by myself from sheer anger and frustration, they were literally doing nothing.
I have been trying to send the Baggage Compensation Form for the past week. Unfortunately, every time I try and fill it out, an error box appears at the top without any clue as to WHAT was filled out incorrectly (though to the best of my knowledge it is all correct). Every time I have attempted to call Customer Relations they have hung up on me! I sent Customer Relations an email and they put me on their long line of complaints. It is impossible to get in touch with anyone on their side and when I have had the joy of hearing someone on the other

Went to Santorini in December as a anniversary present from my Boyfriend and British Airways ruined my trip as well. They delayed my baggage for the ENTIRE trip. Not to mention Santorini shops are closed in December because it's the off season so I couldn't buy ANYTHING. Talk about most horrible trip of my life. & I tried to talking with customer relations and all I get is "I'm sorry". No compensation for when I arrived in Athens or after my travels. Well British Airways I am sorry that I spent thousands of dollars with you and cannot get the minimal customer service people deserve.

Planned a vacation to India and was super excited to fly British Airways - SFO-LHR-BOM. My wife and I bought a business class ticket and given that it was high season, it turned out to be pretty hefty 5 digit fare for both of us. Add to that, a $90 per person, per segment to choose our seats in advance ($720).
Our flight to LHR was good, we were on the upper deck. While my wife fit comfortably into her seat, I had a few challenges given that I was bigger than her. The two flight attendants were friendly, smiling and offered us good service. The segment from LHR to BOM was on a 777 which seemed more crowded and the flight staff seemed angry right through out.
So why the 1 star review?
Firstly, if there was a 0 or negative star option on yelp, BA, you'd get it! Now that we have that out of the way -
I missed my flight from Bombay to LHR - We arrived at 2:45PM instead of 2:45AM, were not even close. But it was a genuine mistake - it happens when your timezone is off by 12.5 hours. BA sent me a reminder on my outbound from SFO-LHR, but none from BOM-LHR. It would certainly have been helpful to get a reminder. There was no one at the airport to help us out (and there was a BA flight about to leave) which was odd, so I went back to the hotel and called their office. To my horror, they said we missed our flight and was considered a no show - hence we had to forfeit the entire ticket and that was apparently a strict policy (BA, learn from Singapore, Cathay, Emirates etc, they help when their passengers are in trouble). What a load of crap, mistakes happen, people miss flights and you can make exceptions to help in situations like this. We paid an arm and a leg for this ticket. After calling them multiple times and after getting disconnected each time due their pathetic phone systems in India (they don't have an ability to call you back either), they said "OK, after talking to our manager and because of our deep concern for your situation, we have

BA used to be amazing when I was a child 20+ years ago. Well, things change. Their rewards program and Visa rewards program are useless.
It costs 100,000 points to travel from the U.S. to Asia. Taxes are $350. But BA charges $500-$600 as their 'carrier' fee. So a so-called free ticket costs $850-$950 dollars. I could purchase the same ticket on Air France or Lufthansa or several other airlines for $1,150.
BA's credit card program supposedly rewards you if you spend $30,000 in a calendar year by providing you a complimentary companion ticket good for 18months. Well, after paying the taxes and 'carrier' fees and being forced to pay for your own ticket on BA (which is a couple hundred more than the other good brand airlines), it's the same as purchasing 2 airline tickets yourself. Instead of paying $100 for this credit card, you're better off getting some other credit card and racking up rewards somewhere else.
BAs rewards program is no reward at all. It's a misnomer meant to trick you.
DON'T BE FOOLED! Stick with the other European, Japanese, Taiwanese brand airlines.

Been on hold for 15 minutes and counting. They make it impossible to book award flights. Sure- they offer you the world with massive promotions with big #s like 100,000 award points if you do X.
Problem is - you can't book ANY USA award travel on line (if you can even figure out how to use their site and then actually trust the 'lack of' information......and then if you call on the phone to book they leave you on hold forever, charge you more because you called in - even though you have no choice - and still can't 'find' you a flight.
A waste of my time and I'm so disappointed in BA.

I just returned from a European trip. The flight was from London to Philadelphia. Great staff and nice meals; however, the airplane seats were very small and crampy. To spend 7.5 hours with someone almost laying in your lap is a bit much. I've flown other airlines and this was a first for me. I would not recommend nor consider this airline for international flights.

Certainly not up to the higher end business class airlines. Even United is considerably better. Stupidest design of business class seats in any airline, in that almost all of the seats require you to crawl over someone to get out.

After booking a quick, half emergency return ticket at the airport, for which I payed about 600 euro's too much, I had to change the date and place of return. Spent 6-7 hours on the phone with different people all telling me different things. One person said changing is possible, the other person said it was not. One person told me I can cancel the ticket, another told me I can't. They just threw random information at me all the time and couldn't help me, I was unable to change my ticket in any way I wanted - and it was a very reasonable request, within a 15 day time span. Bedause I booked it at the British Airway desk at the airport, the ticket was registered as if it was booked by a travel agent. However, I did not get the promised email or information, and could not contact this desk at all. In short, I just feel scammed. I've been toyed around with and they sucked all the money out of me they could. For the first and last time, as I'm spreading the word joyfully that this airline is one to avoid at all costs. uf
