Traveled with Thomson Airways for the first time, to Jamaica 18 Feb, returned 5 Mar. This was an extremely pleasant experience for both my wife and I. We usually go by Virgin or BA to Jamaica but got a greatly discounted fare which we could not resist. In flight quality was good, comfortable flight and cant complement Birmingham International Airport enough for the easy non-fussy experience. The only draw back, as usual, not a fault of Thomson, was the unreasonably long delay at Montego Bay Immigration.

We recently flew with Thomson to Orlando, on the Dreamliner. On both journeys the staff were rude, and generally couldn't care less about what the people on the flight wanted.
Bearing in mind this was a 9hour flight, we were offered soft drinks once, both ways. I went to the back of the plane to request a couple of lemonades only to be told I was allowed only one?! Despite at booking being told all drinks were available free, unlimited (where available). I could clearly see a drawer full of drinks, then to top it off later saw the 'cabin crew' sitting at the back drinking Pepsi from th cans....
The food was average, but incredibly poor that there was no prior choice, just one option. It also took the cabin crew 40 minutes to clear the rubbish from the meal.
Several people were complaining onboard about a variety of things they weren't happy with, to which the cabin crew quickly dismissed as "not their fault". I listened to one lady complain about the cleanliness of her "recycled blanket" to which the head cabin crew member responded... "Have you not ever thought to bring your own rather than complaining about ours"
All in all, I will never fly with Thomson again. They have been useless from start to finish, and will be seeking some sort of part refund for their attempt at service.

Good. An ageing but very well-preserved Boeing 767 of theirs took us to the Caribbean and back for a P&O cruise. Very spacious for a charter flight and a nice hot meal. Richard got 1 free glass of wine I think. Seatback entertainment. Captain announced he was keeping a close eye on the weather for departure from Barbados to Gatwick so at least they're on the ball. Lovely stewardess straightened my collar upon arrival at Gatwick which I thought was a nice touch.
Boeing 757 return to Cape Verde Islands not quite as good. Plane cramped (as most charters are). That does not bother me but there was no meal provided for a 6 hour flight which I don't think is all that short-haul. I seem to remember Monarch Airlines providing a complimentary meal for 4 hours 45 minutes to Luxor. Purchased bacon roll on Thomson absolutely dire (much better food on Easyjet). Thomson crew friendly although not the best groomed. I thought some of them looked like they could do with a bit of a shave! We had 2 female pilots over both these trips.
I remember the 1980s when I used to fly Britannia Airways as they were back then from Luton Airport. It's a bit of a shame they didn't remain British and fly patriotic colours but instead were taken over by a German company. They've only caused the death of one passenger I believe in modern history and I have no qualms about their safety.

We visited Meadowhall store to change a booking we had made.
We needed to cancel a holiday we had made but rather than lose deposit we decided to change it and travel earlier
Did they know how to do this? No
Did they know if it could be changed to a different airport? No
So we were kept waiting whilst they phoned head office.
The sales consultant we had was drinking a mug of tea. Nice
He then shouted another assistant to get him another. Did offer one to us though
At various points he kept getting up and disappearing. We had no idea why.
At one point he interrupted into a conversation going on in the next booth.then spent 5 minutes ignoring us completely whilst he chatted about hotels to them.
He didnt offer any guidance or assistance we checked out hotels on tripadvisor in store ourselves. Didnt appear to be interested in us just in getting his money and a third cuppa
Needless to say wont be using thomsons again

We booked a hotel in Skiathos some months ago through Thomson for the second week in May 2016. Unfortunately since then I have been diagnosed with cancer which meant cancelling all future travel plans for the foreseeable future I contacted Thomson and spoke to a customer service representative and was amazed at her attitude. After explaining what I had been diagnosed with, she told me that there would be no problem cancelling the holiday and Thomson would even return the full deposit. Wow I thought, a change in policy from the holiday companies. I was then put through to the welfare dept, again explained my predicament but was then told I needed to send an e-mail to the exceptions dept, which I did. That is when their attitude changed. I received a very unsympathetic reply, saying they would cancel my holiday right away and e-mail a confirmation to send to my insurance company. Whatever happened to getting my money back without any stress. I queried this and again received the same reply, if you want to cancel blah blah blah. I am still fighting their decision, but I doubt I will get anywhere. It appears their whole business model is structured around ripping people off no matter what their circumstances are. I will never book with this company again.

This is my second review has my first one has not been published 😈😈😈 On Friday the 4th September went to in sudbury tui for print out of my boarding passes , the young lady said she will be only a minute on the phone but we waited and waited the phone call was for customer actually left to do some shopping so we thought we would be next to see her ,then we realised she was holding on to the phone so we did more waiting eventually this customer who went off shopping came back We was told to wait for another tui lady to deal with us ,her customer came back in and just sat down we was absolutely shocked , the young lady in tui should if asked us to sit down oh but no i pointed this out and we was made to feel we was in the wrong !!! We have been going to the same thomson shop since 1985 never failed to praise them but now i feel that we wont book anymore holidays in tui . SUDBURY

We were flying Luton to Rhodes, it took 2 hours to check in because short staffed then had to rush straight to flight gate, no time to eat or get a drink, then when flying back Rhodes to Luton, airport was a shambles, 2 staff checking in for all Thompson flights, we were queing for 2 hours for our flight with people in front of us who's flights were two hours later, just to check in then you had to que again for baggage X-ray, if I hadn't gone to look for someone 30 mins before departure who then rushed us through we would have missed our flight, the flight was boarding when we got there, there was no staff asking down the lines who was waiting on the next leaving flights, this was the day after the hole appeared in runway our flight was for 9pm to Luton, we were told by first choice staff before we left for airport that everything was sorted and that everything was running normally, I have never experienced such a shambles in all my life and all because of lack of staff, I will never fly Thompson again and will not be recommending anyone else to either.

I booked 4 extra room seats for my family on the flight from Kefalonia on the 1st September .Having checked in but boarded late ( the flight still took off on time) I was told that the seats had been resold !
A refund form was filled in by the cabin services manager but to date absolutely no sign of a refund.
Apart from anyone explaining to me why my seats were resold ( and my family seated all over the plane ) I cannot understand how a simple refund can take so much time.
Thomson did not delay in taking the monies from my bank account of course!
Now trying to talk with them but as ever they are elusive

Flight TOM2243 on 16/07/2013 from Heraklion airport to Manchester airport with the scheduled departure time of 18:30 GMT on the 16/07/2013.
This flight arrived 16 hours and 5 minutes late at Heraklion airport.
The way we where treated was not acceptable and i believe that Thompsons have failed a Duty Of Care towards us during the delay.
When asking Thompsons staff what was happening after we were told that our flight was cancelled the following quotes were taken by myself also with video evidence that i took on my phone at the airport and throughout the 24 hour period.
When asking staff at the airport what was happening they both replied 'i dont know i have only been working for thompsons for 3 days'.
I then demanded to see the thompsons superviser at the airport but head of operations did not want to talk. She was no were to be seen throughout this awful ordeal and only showed her face when we finally boarded the plane the day after.
It took Thompsons staff over an hour to arrange transportation to the hotel provided as there were not enough seats on the coaches and children were sitting on laps throughout the journey. I have video evidence of this ordeal and the total panic that set in.Thompsons did not control nor care and your staff let everyone smoke on the airport field and let me video the whole scene.!
When arriving at the hotel Vanisko i asked a Thomsons rep if we could have any food or water she replied 'The hotel has no food'. Yet i have video evidence of a hotel worker eating a meal 20 minutes after. She spoke very good english when it suited and again her excuse was 'ive only worked for Thompsons for 3 days'. Other passengers in the group had no nappies for children, everyone was hungry and your staff did not care or accomodate for this.
In the morning we were told that the coaches would arrive and take us all to the airport.
This again was very hard work for Thompsons staff as they simply could not count as only 2 coaches arrived

I flew thompsons from London, I think it was trim gatwick, Luton or standsted to Palma, Mallorca. They weighed everyone's carry on luggage and I got told mine was overweight so had to pay for my bag, I think it cost about 30 pounds for one way. I could not pay for the bag to be checked in on my return journey at that time. When in Mallorca I emailed them and asked If I could purchase a check in bag online. I couldn't and I couldn't do this over the phone either, only way was by purchasing again at the airport which obviously cost more and wasted my time as I had to go to a seperate desk to pay. The staff at the check in deals were all very rude. The seats were uncomfortable, the food was expensive and disgusting. Also a very bumpy flight and there was a problem with An oven that kept having this high pitched squealing sound, Someone complained but they didn't seem to care.
