London to Valencia return via Madrid (out in economy, return in business), return with minimum connection time (1 hour). LHR-MAD flight was mediocre and the attitude of the crew left a lot to be desired, particularly their attitude to safety. MAD-VLC was delayed by 30 minutes with no information given (at one point, gate stuff packed up and left) which meant we arrived too late for our car hire. Inbound VLC-MAD flight was delayed due to weather, and later air traffic control. When enquiring about our connection, the gate staff at VLC refused to do anything and informed that everything had to be done in Madrid. We called the helpline and were told that nothing can be done to rebook onto a later flight either. VLC-MAD in Business Class had no service, the seat-belt sign was left switched on for the whole flight. With the seats on the CRJ 1000 being the same as economy there was no point paying extra. Upon landing in Madrid, nobody was there to meet our flight. We approached the customer service agent in the T4S lounge and were told they could find no seat for us (economy or business) until the next day. We found seats on Iberia Express but the agents maintained that they could see no availability

Booked a return ticket from Vienna to Madrid (flew on the 2nd Sept. and returned on the 6th September 2017). This was my first and probably the last time I flew with Iberia. It is such an embarrassment for a premium airline to actually not providing any drinks, even more snack without charging the passengers for flights below 6 hours. The flight took about 3 hours of duration and I was extremely shocked to find out that their policy is like budget airlines who will charge you for refreshment onboard the flight. It's absolutely cruel, at least they could have served drinks free of charge. The ticket price is of other premium airlines and I would expect them to have a certain standards in terms of service onboard. The seats were uncomfortable plus the legroom was extremely tight and you could hardly move your legs at all. Please avoid this airlines at any cost. I would highly advise not to fly with this airline.

Marseille to Johannesburg via Madrid. Wheelchair assistance was requested and confirmed for an elderly member of our party with a broken leg. At Marseille airport we were told that Iberia did not inform the airport of our request. We had to use a luggage trolley as a wheelchair. Our flight was delayed for 7 hours at Madrid without explanation or special transport arrangement for the wheelchair. We use Uber at our own expense. The hotel provided by Iberia also was not wheelchair friendly. During our flight to Johannsburg we had to help ourself with drinks and snacks between 8:00 and 15:00. On arrival in JHB we were not assited to exit the plane and had to look for wheelchair assistance ourself while the air stewards were just standing around or packing their own bags.

Madrid to Tenerife. Overbooking on many seats. Rude customer service who doesn't care about anything. They don't serve water on a 3 hours flight. Online reservation doesn't work properly and when we wanted to change our ticket date we had to pay extra 30 Euro for each passenger in phone customer service.

Iberia is getting worse and worse. When I was flying to from Athens to Santiago de Compostela via Madrid there was a strike in France so the flight was cancelled. All passengers had to wait 3 hours to get a voucher and a ticket for the next day, because there were only 2-3 people working on the 6 counters that evening and were trying the help hundreds of customers. When I was flying back to Greece, I asked for a seat on the window or the aisle (I was the 3rd person to check-in that morning) and they asked me for 7 euro to change the seat they had given me 30 seconds ago, "new company policy". 7 euros to change from aisle to window. The company is not offering not even a glass of water anymore and they are seriously getting worse and worse in their customer service, when at the same time their tickets are not as cheap as other airline companies, from which you get what you pay for. I would advise to stay away from Iberia.

Iberia informed me by email that my flight was cancelled one week before my flight. When I called them, they couldn't rebook me to a different flight whether it's on Oct 31 or a day before or after. They just said I'm being refunded end of story. I had to spend more money for tickets for me and my wife not to mention the stress we had to go through. It's hard to communicate with anybody to seek redress since they have no offices in Madrid nor do they have any assistance by phone or online. Don't the carriers or the airline industry have any mechanism where ordinary passengers like us will be protected from this situation or at least be provided with some form of restitution or st least an apology or explanation for subjecting us to circumstances beyond our control and getting away with it.

Zurich to Quito via Madrid. Very disappointed with Iberia. I arrived 07.11.2017 at Quito, while my suitcase did not make it. Iberia promised to deliver my suitcase by 09.11.2017. When I called they told me that the suitcase was just arriving and they could not deliver it until 10.11.2017. Today in the morning I got a call from Iberia, that my suitcase will be delivered today. However, my suitcase still did not get delivered and when I call Iberia nobody would pick up the phone. I am here in Ecuador on vacation and have already lost several days waiting for my suitcase with my clothes and other important stuff in it, and Iberia does not even answer my calls. This is very bad service. I would not recommend to fly with Iberia.

Havana to Madrid. Decent cabin interior, very poor on board entertainment. I would recommend bringing your own iPad and noise cancelling head set (luckily I did), disappointing catering. If you choose the standard meal you may survive. Choosing vegetarian meal was something that I ended up far worse than I have experienced in economy class

Barcelona to Madrid in domestic business class. The business class service was shockingly bad on this 1 hr 15 min flight, no real attention from the crew and it would have been better if they didn't serve any meal, rather than the poor quality cheese sandwich. First time I have seen that the business class passengers actually have a chance to upgrade their meal to buy onboard option. Buy onboard menu cards were available in Business

Some years ago, we flew to Rome with Iberia and someone opened our suitcase and stole our shoes. We sent a report because it's obviously their fault and we never got an answer back. Now, on March 25th this year (last week), we arrived late from Orlando to London with British Airways and we missed the flight to Madrid which we were supposed to go with Iberia. Nobody from Iberia was there so we called them and besides their poor English, they could only get someone to get to us at 8pm (our flight to Madrid was at 11am) and maybe only maybe put us in a flight to Madrid..... Obviously we were worried about our suitcases so we talked to the British Airways staff and they got us an earlier ticket + train tickets to get to the other airport + the suitcases! Never again with Iberia!

Worst airline customer service experience ever. Staff in Madrid are rude and unhelpful. I will never deal with this airline again. I had the unfortunate experience of being redirected to Iberia since my BA flight was canceled.

I just flew this airline from sevilla to Madrid. I'm writing this review right now so it obviously didn't end badly but I have a few issues with the service. The flight attendant was the rudest angry robot I've ever seen. I've actually never seen someone act like this. She didn't smile once, looked like she wanted to kill everyone during the safety demo and mumbled in a whisper when making announcements. It was weird.

This review is from an experience about 2 years ago. I booked a ticket several months in advance to go to Nice. I get an email a week before extending my layover in ORD from 4 hours to 48 hours- I call Iberia and asked to get put on another flight that my plans were not that flexible on top of the fact who the hell would do a 48 hour layover??? At any rate they refused to do the change even though AA (the booking carrier) said they would move me to a flight through CDG and all Iberia had to do was ok it- they wouldn't and they said you can either take the long layover or get a refund. I opted for the refund and spent 6 or 7 weeks fighting them for it- they gave every excuse in the book- I eventually had to threaten to take them to court and the very next day my refund appeared on my credit card account. My Aunt also advised me that this airline gave her bad service from MIA-MAD. So I probably won't fly Iberia unless I have to.

My husband and I flew to Madrid from Chicago O'hare May 21st. We had a great experience with the airline. Flights were on time, 1st piece of checked luggage with free, the food was great, free beer and wine. The staff was more than wonderful. We would fly with Iberia again in a heart-beat maybe one of these days first class.

Just returned from a r/t flight to Madrid on Iberia and had a great experience flying coach.
-Departed both times on time
-Arrived on time
-Luggage arrived on time
-Flew a brand new Airbus 340-600 on the way to Spain with plenty of legroom.
-The flight attendants were bilingual.
-Free coffee, tea and water
-free headphones for movies (Thor and Rio)
-free newspaper
-Two meals on each flight to and from Chicago:
For the evening flight: A dinner (beef or chicken) with potatoes, green beans, salad and dessert) with extra dinner rolls on demand; and a breakfast with a sandwich, fresh fruit and yogurt.
For the afternoon flight: A choice of chicken or pasta dinner with salad and dessert and the extra rolls; and for breakfast a sandwich, fresh fruit, and a coffee cake.
The flight attendants will never win awards for their friendly, entertaining personalities, but they are efficient.
Also: The first bag you check in is FREE.
Going to Madrid we flew in and out of the new Barajas terminal 4S which makes O'Hare look like a 3rd world destination.
They say to arrive 3 hours early when flying out of Madrid and we found that we needed every minute of that time to get through check-in, security (where they don't make you take off your shoes) and to take the tram to terminal 4S.
The fare was cheaper than on any other airline for an August flight to Madrid and we were very pleased with our experience.
Our experience on the way back connecting to Boston Logan was hellish (can you say Honey Badger Airport?) compared to our experience on Iberia.

The cheapest flight to Italy with a stop in Madrid, so I wasn't expecting much. Flights are delayed a lot, TV's are crappy and leg room??? What leg room!?! I was cramped and I can't imagine what my 6"2' husband was feeling on the 9 hour flight!
Oh well! It wasn't terrible but it wasn't really comfortable either. At least the free wine helped us get through the plane ride :-)

Oh, Iberia. I have so many hilarious stories from flying your airline to my ex-boyfriend's house in the south of Spain. I sort of miss our adventures, don't you?
Like remember the time we were flying from Barcelona to Jerez de la Frontera and hit some nasty turbulence and the oxygen masks fell out of the ceiling? Of course, nobody spoke English to tell me what was going on, so I grabbed a flight attendant who told me with a big smile "Oh, don't worry! This happen ALL THE TIME!"
Or the multiple occasions you sent my luggage to Madrid for no real reason (and some angry Italian lady's too, she started freaking out and had to be escorted out of the airport, remember?!) You were very nice, though, and when my boyfriend asked you about it you gave me a travel kit full of toothpaste, shampoos, a towel, and pajamas. You always delivered my luggage the next day, after it toured Madrid.
You were cheap, and sure, sometimes the plane made strange noises, or oxygen masks popped out, but hey, your flight attendants were super nice even if they spoke bad English (I speak bad Spanish, so I guess we're even).
I'll always cherish our time together, but I don't think I'll be flying to Spain any time soon (unfortunately). We'll always have our memories, though!

En route to Milano...
First stop? Madrid via Iberia Airlines.
We were greeted by the friendliest ticket counter employee EVER. When my friend was confused by the luggage tags, the employee joked that they were in-fact 'drink wristbands' for the flight. He was amused enough that he even gave my friend another one! Ahhh, classic.
Plus, he was a lifesaver as he gave the two of us a a four-seat row all to ourselves. God bless him, seriously.
Food was decent, employees were friendly and they had pineapple juice as one of their options. I'm glad Iberia is an AA partner. Holler for miles! ;)

Really?
My flight from Madrid to Chicago was supposed to be 9 hours, 30 minutes. I understand it was less, but let's not split hairs.
You managed to show "Eat, Pray, Love" in its entirety, as well as some long-winded commercials for luxury lines like Fendi (barf) but "Ramona and Beezus" gets shorted? How am I supposed to live not knowing how Aunt Bea and Hobart's wedding goes? And do the Quimbys sell their house? What about Ramona? Should I just assume she does not end up the new Royal Peanut Butter Princess? What the H, man?

these guys are the WORST. there service is absolutely appalling. I wish I knew more about them before I booked my tickets from LAX to MAD. It is virtually impossible to get a seat reservation. their service makes the American airlines look amazing. these guys are total hacks.

Iberia should not even be your last option if flying anywhere. They lost both checked in bags with belongings accumulated during my year's stay in Seville, Spain. It's been a week and im still waiting to receive information on where my checked luggage ended up. The customer care agents try to be polite but obviously have no idea how to trace the bags and will cook up stories on when the bags should arrive but they still haven't. A google or Facebook search on how Iberia treats your luggage should give you an idea of the absolute sense of regret and loss I'm suffering now knowing that perhaps my immigration documents together with my personal effects may be gone for good.

I wish I could give this airline a 0 star rating. Iberia airline is a complete SCAM. I have never received such horrific customer service in my entire life.
I was flying from Porto to Madrid, then Madrid to Chicago with Iberia. A staff member at Porto named Saudia forced me to check my carry on bag, even though it was underweight and carry on size. She checked it without giving me time to look through and pull out my valuables. We think this was some kind of inside job.
My flight into madrid was 45 minutes late, leaving us only 15 minutes to make our connection. During this time we had to go through customs and sprint across the Madrid Barajas airport.
When I returned home, my luggage was nowhere to be seen. Iberia had lost TWO pieces of my baggage. The contents worth over $4000 when totaled up. It has now been a full week without my luggage. I have called Iberia over 14 times, each time the attendants have no information and are extremely rude.
I have shared my experience with others and have met at least 4 people who had their luggage lost by Iberia and never found.
After 6 days, one of my pieces of luggage was found and returned to me. When it was delivered it was absolutely destroyed and had multiple items stolen out of it (I'm assuming by an iberian air staff member possibly linked to Saudia). whoever stole the items had time to unpack my bag piece by piece and rummage through my clothes.
They only picked out my pieces with designer labels. They stole 2 alexander wang sweaters and a few silk blouses. This is actually pretty disgusting because I had been traveling for over 2 months and the clothes were all filthy. They also managed to steal my camera, camera charger, and 2 lenses (all from separate compartments of my luggage). After this, they packed the bag up almost exactly how it was found. Disgusting.
The attendants have no methods for tracing where my second bag is. I am assuming whoever stole my camera in Madrid stole this bag as w

I was apprehensive for our flight from Chicago to Madrid but I have to say, I had a very pleasant experience. It wasn't luxurious but it was comfortable, clean, we were well taken care of and it was significantly better than our return flight on American Airlines.
