Delhi to Srinigar (Kashmir) far exceeded our expectations. Check-in at Delhi Terminal 3 was swift and efficient, the aircraft departed on time and arrived slightly ahead of scehdule. The aircraft was spotlessly clean and the cabin crew thoroughly professional (particularly in relation to safety checks) and courteous. Perhaps the biggest surprise was that despite being only 90 minute mid-morning flight, a complimentary cooked meal with choice of dishes and drinks was served and cleared away in the short time available.

Flight departed half hour late, arrived 15 mins behind schedule. The meal served onboard was very filling and sufficient. Seat pitch was nice and the crew was professional. Seats were a little worn out but was still ok for a 2 hour flight. The crew were professional and not rude. Teacoffee was served after the meals. Overall the flight was worth the money.

I'm not sure if service on this sector has always been mediocre with Air India, but I am definitely less than satisfied with the service I was given from the airline on one of their most significant international routes. Currently reeling under the situation of being sold off privately, the airline seems to be in splits as far as operations go. And my dissatisfaction started right from the check in kiosk itself, with the representative not from AI, but from a contract with the DIAL corp. The attitude this representative was showing unnecessarily was very upsetting. Boarded the flight with a half-hearted Namaskar from the flight attendant, something I was not expecting as AI FA's used to be the pride of the airline and a great first impression with their onboard greetings. This half hearted attitude stayed throughout the entire crew faculty present onboard the flight. No proper training given either; the methods used by the FA's to receive and give drinks was extremely clumsy as well as the attitude with which flight information was given. Food was also mediocre, not so special, but appreciated. No complaints from the flight timing, took off and landed before time! The aircraft however was extremely old, no personal IFE screen and the seats were not as comfy, not to mention dirty. While deboarding, the attitude of get-off-the-plane-already was present.

Flew Kochi to Dubai. My first experience of Air India's Dreamliner fleet, it was fabulous, for a change the in-flight services and crew were absolutely superb, just like the way you get treated in premium routes like London-Kochi, superb experience. Seats were wide enough, superb legroom, good food, nice service, superb interiors and amazing flight. Keep it up Air India.

Boarding was quick, considering the number of passengers waiting to be boarded. I'm impressed with the seats. They're comfortable, had nice cushions, and most important the leg space was amazing. I had never flown in any airline which had so much leg space in Economy. They had only veg food. Why would you not have non-veg? This was very strange. The choice of European cuisine was limited. Overall, it was a great flight. After a long time, I was able to sleep very well.

Raipur to Bangalore via Delhi. Worst experience ever. Our connecting flight got preponed and there was no support from the airline. We faced the cancellation of indigo as well, but thanks to them that they themselves rebooked the other flight and sent us the details saying if we want any change, there is option for that. The problems we faced with Air India - Customer service guys said that they can't help and asked to call at the airport but declined to give number of airport. Airport guys gave some other number and asked to call their admin office or asked us to go to the office for further details. No one picked the call for 2 hours in the admin office and then told that we have to call back later. Finally when we requested that we have urgent work and have to reach on monday for office they re booked the tickets and asked us to collect the tickets from the office within half an hour.

Awful. First, the divider between the business class seats were absolutely filthy. No WiFi service on board. In-flight entertainment was limited. I'm a gold level flier and this was my worst flight experience. I reclined my seat and it failed to return to a seated position about 5 hours into a flight. After messing with the seat for 15 minutes, the flight attendant put me in another seat - only to find out that that seat did not recline at all. 15 minutes later, a discussion with the purser, I was switched with another passenger and found his dirty socks in my seat. In that seat, the entertainment system failed to work. This was a 15 hour flight that I flew business class and paid over $4000 for a ticket on. I would have rather traveled premium economy on United. The experience would have been much better. My complaint to the airline came back as "yes, we agree that everything happened just as you said it, but you need to deal with it since it was a one time thing." I will never, ever fly them again.

Delhi to Milan return via Rome. Delhi to Milan flight the aircraft quality is good, good legroom, comfortable seats, food good, cabin crew especially male stewards were good. The flight was on time. On the way back the flight was delayed a bit but mostly due to luggage handling. But a staff onboard literally threw the dinner plate at my fellow passengers, and when i had gone to submit my used glass of water her behavior was appalling. By the end of the flight the aisle was all filthy because the staff didnt bother to pickup the waste. There seemed a tendency to overlook and treat passengers with unprofessionalism as majority were Indians, but considering expats too were flying with us such behavior was a disgrace and not reflective of our culture.

Air India from Delhi to Bangalore return. Check in fast. However, when I checked my boarding pass, lounge invitation and baggage tag alarmingly realised that I had someone elses. Immediately told check in lady, who could not care less until I raised my voice. It took quite an effort to get bags retagged and issue corrected. Thankfully I had come to airport well ahead of time. Flight departed on time. Crew so so. IFE not working. Food so so. Seat comfort okay. Baggage delivery in BLR was fast. However, on return to DEL it took well over an hour. Issue with AI is, It is overstaff with most employees who do virtually nothing or do not take pride in their job.

Air India got me to Chicago from Delhi on time but that's pretty much the good part. They messed up seat allocation, and chaos at checkin. Unnecessary airline security checks again after the airport security check. In cabin service was pretty poor - no enforcement of cabin safety during takeoff and landing, and the meal time management and keeping the lights in accordance with time zone of destination was terrible. They serve a snack at 3am Delhi time, a breakfast 5 hours later when it's really dinner time in Chicago and then a lunch before landing at 5am Chicago time. The lunch was the only liquor service - 2 hours before landing at 7 am! The overhead reading lights did not work nor did the flight maps/camera. IFE very sluggish and oversensitive. Toilets became a mess mid flight. Avoid if you can fly another airline.

I would like to start with the website where I logged in to book the tickets.
It is one hell of a website where it always goes to the "Server unavailable" page. I have tried an entire day atleast 20-30 times but was unable to book my tickets through them.
Next, I have called their customer care and opted english speaking person. You should hear them talking. I have asked them that I wanted to book three tickets, one of which is my infant daughter and I would like to purchase a seat for her. They don't even have the facility to opt a seat when you select an infant in ticket. If you select child, then my Baby's birthyear does not appear in their website. REALLY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
Dear Air India technical staff. If you ever read this, please think of the country and its grace and personality and try to improve your website to be atleast 20% of what is provided by the rest of the world. I will say that your 20% improvement will be better than what your website is today. Other suggestion will be to remove the name INDIA from AIR INDIA. Why insult the country when you are incapable.

I went to Mumbai from Air India For my business meeting and I really felt that I am really in a comfort zone because as compare to other airlines, air India is best in space, quality, service and maintenance. It was a pleasant travel experience with Air India. from starting to landing to Mumbai I really liked the service which they provide. crew member Air hostes they was really good in serving their best services. food was nice but.
I like the service quality and mostly the behavior of members, I was travelling in economy only and really I liked so much so I am just shearing my experience which I felt and it was pleasing experience so now I use to travel only fro Air India.
negative thing is that food is costly over all everything is fine and a complete package of comfortable luxury feeling. I will recommend this Air India flight to each and every one who just travel all around or any business or personal trip.

i travelled from Sydney-Delhi-Sydney through Air India last week. The Boeing 787 dreamliner
of Air India is really excellent. However, the cabin crew need some professional training regarding customer service. They lack the skill of customer service. they do not dress up well. The meal quality was average. The quantity of meal was not enough. The number of beverages was also very less. Unlikely to other airlines, Air India does not provide menu cards. Jain meal quality was very inferior .I request Air India to improve the quality of its cabin crew and meal.

My experience with the Air India from Sydney to Delhi was good, still Air India have to go long way to go to achive top spot. particularly, Cabin Crew are good in their services but there is still something missing. it seems like they are not that comfortalbe smiling with passengers, they have to learn smile with whole face, not only with lips. i felt Air India is really trying to make their presence on world stage. I had the pleasure of traveling on Air India for my very first international flight! I had previously read horror stories about the airline, so I was a little skeptical. However, the price was extremely reasonable and the service, to my amazement and relief, was fantastic. The staff was very accommodating and attentive. I did not have a single problem with the service! I am so happy with Air India that I will be sure to book Air India, if possible, for my next flight!

Like most of my reviews this one deserves a context also. Here we go...
I am 100% Indian. That's right people! Even though my husband sometimes thinks I am more waspy than him, I have the genes to prove I am of Indian descent. Why am I saying this? Because i am going to say some stuff about MY PEOPLE that will call into question my credibility.
My people are bat shit crazy. As much as I love them (and belong to them), I have to dissociate myself from the craziness from time to time. They expect things to happen instantly and do not understand the concept of 'waiting for your turn'. They carry more bags than allowed, bring entire clans of screaming kids on the flight, and treat the flight like their personal property. And, they all fly Air India because it is the ONLY airline that will put up with this kind of craziness.
Not surprisingly, the flight attendants on Air India deserve the Nobel peace prize for putting up with my people and their antics. I mean, it is not easy dealing with a horde of unruly children, crying babies, old women making incessant demands, people trying to squeeze past the food cart, and the best of all... some guy smoking in the bathroom. That's right, he was puffing. What kind of an idiot thinks it is ok to do that? Oh, the drama...
In spite of all this the flight attendants kept their cool, handled everyone efficiently, and the best part... looked fabulous, did not crease that gorgeous sari, or bat an eye. I have never seen flight attendants like that. I would probably throw some of those kids out of the airborne flight for the ruckus they were causing, and kicked that muthaf*ckin smoker out along with the kids. Good thing I will never be a flight attendant.

This airline was terrible!
On the way to India, I ended up in a seat with absolutely no cushioning. My ass was hurting within the first five minutes of being seated. The next 13 hours was definitely torturous. I wasn't able to enjoy the entire trip either with their lack of English movies. They only had four American movies, one of which I had seen. So that only killed about 6 hours of the ride for me. In addition, their were babies all over this plane so it was hours and hours of wailing. How can anyone sleep with this?? And the worst of it all was an old Indian lady sitting diagonally from me (I was sitting in a two seater row, she was in the aisle seat of a three seater row) who kept putting her feet on my arm rest. WTF??? I have learned after my trip that Indian people do not need their own personal space and don't feel like putting their feet on your arm rest to be rude because this lady looked at me like I was rude when I asked her to put her feet off my arm rest. I ended up with the chills, sweats, and felt completely nauseous by the end of the flight.
After arriving in India, I discovered that the pilots of Air India had gone on strike. I also discovered that Air India is government owned, so basically the government of India does not negotiate, so if pilots are going to strike, then they will be fired. By the last day, the government of India had fired almost 80 pilots. Their contingency plan was to cancel MANY international trips which included Chicago.
Thankfully my tour guide had helped me check my flight. My original flight plan was NON-stop. However, due to the strike, it became a one stop flight to Frankfurt which delayed my return to the US by approximately 3 hours. Once in Frankfurt, they did not allow anyone off the plane, so I was basically on the plane for 17 hours. Service was okay and the food sucked. My flight to India had better food.

Ticket booking is still rocket science for them ... i had to cancel part of round trip ticket with them ... called their cc multiple locations, multiple times ... like 10 times ... finally they agreed to cancel the flight ticket ..but the cancellation would take another 3 weeks to reflect in my ac ..i asked them deductions ... oh boy, they cannot tell it exact amt .. .today i checked in my bank account they have cut 50% of my flight ticket !!
